So long Hardball Dynasty!

To say I've been playing Hardball Dynasty a long time would be an understatement. Since the first internal test league back in 2005, I've been playing HBD every single day. Only sebel can rival my longevity.

I joined WhatIfSports as part of the University of Cincinnati's co-op program in 2004 and HBD was the first big project I worked on. I had no idea what I was doing but tzentmeyer gave me an opportunity. I can recall working on the standings and various stat pages along with the World Office concept. I loved it, not just the game but building something with people that had a passion for sports and games.

Today, I'm hanging up my baseball simulation spikes after nearly 20 years of playing the game. I still love this game and am proud to have been part of its history. I personally have just run out of ways to make the game feel fresh and could use a new challenge. Maybe I'll be back, but for now goodbye HBD.

Pitching Pitcher Ratings R/L Splits are the most important ratings for a pitcher, with vRH being the most valuable. At the ML level it’s very difficult for a pitcher to be successful with Splits below 65. Control and individual Pitch ratings are important as well but the threshold can be lowered the higher the R/L Splits. Personally, I do not pay much attention to Velocity or Ground / Fly Ball ratings. The Season 64 Free Agent Leftovers Team

At the end of each offseason you can find a number of quality ML Free Agents still looking for contracts. Often times these players are attached to a Type A designation but sometimes teams just run out of cash and good players go unsigned. This year I've put together a full 25 man ML roster full of players that were not signed prior to the end of the Free Agency cycles. You'll notice that a few of these players have already been signed, but the transaction dates will show these players were unsigned as of the 1/17 PM2 cycle. Lineup 1B Dennis Washburn  (Age: 32 | Rating: 73 | Asking: $2.1 / 2 years) Good Power and Contact to go along with plus defense at 1B.  2B Darren Reed   (Age: 31 | Rating: 78 | Asking: $2.5 / 2 years / Type A) Defense and power are slipping a bit but Reed is still a productive player.
